Mark Bell, President

mark bell president of empower energy technologyMark Bell has nearly 20 years of Engineering and Product Management Experience. Most recently Mark oversaw the High Speed Internet Product portfolio for Cox Communications, which was, at the time of his departure, a $1 Billion product line within the company. Mark also worked for telecom leader Bellsouth and engineering firm Simons Engineering (acquired by Amec).

Mark earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (1990) from Georgia Tech and possesses a Masters of Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University (2000). Chuck Clarke, Vice President – Engineering

Chuck Clark has over 20 years of electrical engineering experience. After graduating from VA Tech in 1986 with a BSEE degree, Chuck started his career with Bechtel Power Corporation engineering critical power systems for nuclear power plants. While at Bechtel, Chuck was assigned as a field engineer at the Vogtle Nuclear Station near Augusta, GA.  Bechtel is where Chuck began honing his knowledge and experience with generators and battery back-up systems while under the scrutiny of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. After Bechtel, Chuck operated as an independent contract engineer with various nuclear facilities across the U.S. as clients, including the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site (SRS).

In 1996, Chuck enrolled at GA Tech to pursue graduate work in Civil Engineering and Construction Management. It was during this time that Chuck realized there was a need for an engineering and installation firm specializing in critical power systems and began his first company providing these services in 2004. Tom Tomaka, Clean Tech Business Director

Tom_Tomaka_head_shotAs the Clean Technology Business Director, Tom develops new business in the areas of solar electricity, solar hot water, computer data center airflow management and LED lighting.

Prior to joining EET, Tom compiled an impressive list of accomplishments during his 25-year association with the IBM Corp, where he specialized in the development and marketing of new products and services. He developed complex business transactions involving goods, services, and intellectual property spanning a range of industries with an emphasis on medical devices, healthcare, life sciences and high technology. More recently, Tom helped shape IBM’s Big Green strategy, which funneled $2B of R&D funding into areas such as green data centers, carbon emissions  management, smart utility grids and fresh water management.

Edward Moreadith, Business Development Director – Asheville, NC

ed_headEdward Moreadith has over 17 years of professional experience with a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science (1992) from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Edward began his career developing software for engineering firms and was one of two architects on a Department of Energy materials management system.  The last 14 years he worked in enterprise software development and consulting, serving clients including AGL Resources, Bellsouth, Cox Communications, Cox Enterprises, John Harland, Koch Industries, Lend Lease REI and Randstad North America.   He led his own consulting firm the last 11 years after working for Accenture and Crestone International.

As the Business Development Director, Empower Energy Asheville, Edward will use his extensive background in software development to research, investigate and bring new Energy Management software and Renewable technologies to the Empower Energy portfolio of offerings.
