• DSIRE: DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Established in 1995, the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency is an ongoing project of the North Carolina Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
  • Interstate Renewable Energy Council: The IREC is a non-profit organization dedicated to moving renewable energy resources into the marketplace.
  • Rocky Mountain Institute: RMI is a nonprofit organization that fosters the efficient and restorative use of resources so that companies, governments and organizations are more efficient, make more money, and do less harm to the environment. RMI is engaged in cutting-edge research on oil independence, renewable energy technologies, distributed energy, resource planning, green buildings , and radically efficient transportation.
  • EERE: As a department under the U.S. Department of Energy, the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy plays an important role for our country by advancing technologies such as biomass and biofuels, solar power, wind power, advanced vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cells.
  • NREL: The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is the nation’s primary laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development (R&D). NREL’s mission and strategy are focused on advancing the U.S. Department of Energy’s and our nation’s energy goals.
  • ISLR: The Institute for Local Self-Reliance. The Institute’s mission is to provide innovative strategies, working models and timely information to support environmentally sound and equitable community development. To this end, ILSR works with citizens, activists, policymakers and entrepreneurs to design systems, policies and enterprises that meet local or regional needs; to maximize human, material, natural and financial resources; and to ensure that the benefits of these systems and resources accrue to all local citizens.
